Edward Barrera was a triple winner at the LatinGRAMMY® held in Seville, Spain. He won BEST PRODUCER, BEST COMPOSER and BEST Regional Mexican. He is currently the only Latin nominated in the main categories at the GRAMMY Awards where he is nominated for Songwriter of the Year. And just this morning, it was announced that he reigns as the number one Hot Latin Songs Producer and number two hot Latin Songwriters on Billboard’s Year End Charts.
At the forefront of the Mexican music movement, the eminent songwriter and producer also lands at number 12 on the Year End Hot 100 Producers Chart as the highest ranked Latin figure. Culminating an astonishing year dominating the charts, Barrera has amassed hundreds of thousands of streams across multiple genres. His unmatched ability to hone-in on an artist’s strengths, talents and musicality while also leveraging his Mexican roots have played a large role in his continued Latin music domination. Plus, his indie label BorderKid also nabs accolades on this year’s Year End Charts on Hot Latin Songs Imprints.
In addition, two of the songs he has composed/produced have landed on the Year End Hot 100 Songs and seven have nabbed spots on the Year End Global 200.
On the Hot Latin Songs Year End Chart, Edgar Barrera has composed/produced 13 of the songs including “un x100to” at number three, “Bebe Dame” at number five, “Que Vuelvas” at number 11, “Fragil” at number 21, “Chanel” at number 26, “Tulum” number 27, “La Bachata” at number 35, “Di Que Si” at number 42, “Mi Ex Tenia Razon” at number 43, “El Merengue” at number 49, “El Amor De Su Vida” at number 65, “Gucci Los Panos” at number 79 and “Segun Quien” at number 93. He also counts with seven songs on the Year End Latin Airplay Songs, eight songs on the Latin Digital Song Sales, nine songs on the Latin Streaming Songs, six songs on the Regional Mexican Airplay Songs including the number one position, four Tropical Airplay Songs including position one and two and one song on the Latin Rhythm Airplay further cementing his strengths across multiple genres.
