Tianguis Turistíco 2025 in Baja California… What an event it was!

Tianguis Turistíco 2025 Officially started in San Diego, enduring ties between California & Mexico.
VENTANA A MEXICO. For the first time in its 49 years, the most important tourism event of Mexico took place in the state of Baja California and everyone was welcomed with open arms. Marina del Pilar Avila Olveda, governor of Baja California, and Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, secretary of tourism for Mexico, both welcomed all participants from the private sector to federal, state and municipal functionaries of the Mexican Republic, as well as all expositors and visitors from different parts of the world.
This was also the first time that a Tianguis Turístico was binational – as it was inaugurated in California. Liberty Station in San Diego was the place were 28 Mexican states gathered for a weekend to bring together the vibrant traditions of Mexico with live performances, artisans, authentic gastronomy and cultural presentations for all to enjoy and spotlight the enduring ties between California and Mexico.
“Today is a day in which we show and toast the best from our land, today is a day in which we open up our hearts,” said the governor, Marina del Pilar.
The first Tianguis Turístico started back in 1975 in Acapulco, Guerrero by the initiative of former President Miguel Aleman Valdes, who (after his presidency) he became president of the National Tourism Comission, further solidifying his influence on tourism development in Mexico.
The Tianguis Turístico is now a prominent tourism trade show in Mexico. It has since evolved into the nation’s leading business forum for tourism, showcasing Mexico’s tourism offerings to both domestic and international buyers. The Tianguis Turístico in Baja California in 2025 marked the 49th edition of the event. The 50th edition will be back in Acapulco – See you there!
