The Grand Tasting turned the San Diego Food + Wine Festival Grand Weekend (November 7–9, 2025) into something more revealing than a lineup: a living coastline of flavors, from Baja to the waterfront.

Bites, pours, and people you actually remember

Baja California on a San Diego plate

One chef promised pork and tuna carnitas”—tuna cooked in pork fat, crisped into taquitos with salsa and garlic. A seafood distributor brought a smoked tuna taco from Mazatlán, Mexico plus shrimp ceviche, inviting everyone to come enjoy this beautiful event.”

From tamales to tartare

There was also a stingray tamal with green sauce, avocado, and seaweed, and a tuna tartare layered with fermented mango and kombucha.
