THE GRAND FIESTA 2025. VOTED The Best Wine Festival in the Country in 2023 & 2024 (USA TODAY)
The Grand Fiesta at the San Diego Food + Wine Festival (2025)
A “fiesta” that tastes like Baja and feels like a bridge
The Grand Fiesta at the San Diego Food + Wine Festival Grand Weekend (November 7–9, 2025) wasn’t just another stop on the calendar. It was a cultural handshake—San Diego meeting Baja in the most honest language there is: food.
Tacos as storytelling
Ribeye tostadas, lamb, duck—and the Baja invitation
Kise Guevara (Cempoali Restaurant) brought a ribeye + chile tostada—bold, direct, built for conversation. Chef Josh Placencia honored family roots with a “keto taco”: lamb, tzatziki with roasted garlic, pickled onions, tomatoes, beans, and a salsa matcha-Siracha finish.
Then Chef Javier from La Justina Group went full street-to-festival with a duck confit taco and ended with a line that felt like the real headline: “Come to Tijuana… we love you.”
BajaTraveler® takeaway
This isn’t ignoring reality. It’s choosing to see the connection: flavors crossing borders, people showing up.
