Martin Berasategui holds a long list of awards, including eight Michelin stars, and Gastro Bar showcases some of his finest achievements, highlighting a variety of contemporary Basque cuisine. The restaurant has a formal dress code and an intimate feel. With a capacity of just 44 people, it’s the perfect spot to linger over dinner with that special someone.
Born in San Sebastian, Berasategui started helping at his family’s restaurant as a teenager. He was just 25 when he earned his first Michelin star. He now holds eight stars and numerous other awards, including Spanish Chef 1996, awarded by the Spanish Academy of Gastronomy. His restaurant group manages properties around the world.
Throughout his distinguished career, Berasategui has collaborated with a long list of companies and brands to develop new products. He has written many books, most recently a collection of 150 easy and tasty recipes that was published last year.
In total, he has five restaurants on Paradisus Resorts properties, including three in Mexico and two in the Dominican Republic.
