ACADEMY MUSEUM OF MOTION PICTURES 4th ANNUAL GALA RAISES OVER $11 MILLION

The Academy Museum Gala: $11M+ Raised to Keep Cinema Accessible

Not just a red carpet—an operating budget for culture

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures held its fourth annual gala in partnership with Rolex, raising over $11 million to support exhibitions, education initiatives, and public programs—from screenings and K–12 learning to access initiatives serving Los Angeles.

The night honored the past—and funded the future

Co-chaired by Dr. Eric Esrailian, Salma Hayek Pinault, Nicole Kidman, Eva Longoria, and Tyler Perry, the evening celebrated the museum’s mission while recognizing standout voices in film:

  • Rita Moreno received the Icon Award, presented by Steven Spielberg
  • Paul Mescal received the Vantage Award, presented by Saoirse Ronan
  • Quentin Tarantino received the Luminary Award, presented by John Travolta, and announced he would donate his first handwritten Pulp Fiction draft to the museum

BajaTraveler® takeaway

This isnt ignoring reality. Its preserving it—so more people can learn, watch, and belong inside the story.

If you could fund one thing—free screenings, K–12 programs, or access initiatives—what would you choose?
